Chetna Cycle Rally spreads awareness against single use plastic in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 2: In the relentless endeavor and initiatives to spread awareness and sensitize citizens on the importance of waste segregation and quit single use plastic, JUSCO conducted a Chetna Cycle Rally on 2nd October which was flagged off by Everester Premlata Agarwal.  

To promote and create awareness on issues like proper segregation of waste, cleanliness, avoid use of plastics, keep city clean, safe health and pollution control, around 40 enthusiastic cyclists including Anoop Birtharay, SSP Jamshedpur, Tarun Daga, MD JUSCO, Capt Dhananjay Mishra, Sr GM � Jharkhand Business, Deepak Kamath, Sr GM � Real Estate, along with other senior officials of TSL and JUSCO, started the rally from Sacred Heart Convent School at 4:00pm then via Straight Mile Road, Bistupur and concluded at PM Mall at around 4:45pm.

 There was a brief, interesting and hilarious Nukkad Natak by the members of Nav Srijan, to generate consciousness among spectators there on waste segregation and single use plastic items.

Swachhagrahis were also felicitated on the occasion. NS Walia of Golmuri, who encourages people by giving them chocolates and spreads awareness on cleanliness, waste segregation and tree plantation.  SS Chawla of Kadma who has taken the responsibility of keeping Neelsarovar clean.  Prakash Barua of Mandir Path Kadma who looks after the children�s park there and generates awareness. S Anand Rao of New Baridih whose hobbies are tree plantation and keeping the environment pollution free and clean. Sharmila Mukherjee, principal of Kerela Public School, Kadma who encourages children to become cleanliness ambassadors and does the same herself.

These are those wonderful people who have dedicated themselves to the cause of waste segregation and are helping in educating others. The Swachhagrahis were felicitated by SSP, Jamshedpur.

Tarun Daga, MD JUSCO, spoke on the occasion and specified that we all together can join hands and make Jamshedpur clean, green, safe and sustainable for years to come. He also spoke about how we could work towards increasing the rating of Jamshedpur in the Swacchta Survekshan.

Anoop Birtharay, SSP Jamshedpur also addressed the audience and was appreciative that JUSCO chose Gandhi Jayanti to spread awareness on waste segregation and quit single use plastic through the Chetna Cycle Rally and the Nukkad Natak. He also said that if we love Jamshedpur we should together work to keep the clean, green and safe.
