Chandil, August 18: Due to day-long rains in Chandil and surrounding areas on Thursday, the water level of the dam is increasing rapidly. The water level of the dam stood at 181.70 meters on Friday morning.
. After which both the open radial gates of the dam were increased by one meter each. Due to increasing instead of decreasing water level, the third radial gate of the dam was also opened up to one meter at around 10:30. Earlier, on August 13, one gate was opened up to 30 cm and on August 17, the second gate was opened up to 20 cm. Due to the rains, the water level of the dam had started rising from Thursday evening itself.
Dam’s water enter Ichagarh
Chandil, August 18: Water has entered Ichagarh village after the water level of Chandil Dam increased. At present, the roads of the village are submerged and if the water of the dam increases, water will also enter the houses of the people.
After opening three radial gates, the water level of the dam is stable. After which the displaced are breathing a sigh of relief.
Like every year, this year also the rain has once again increased the concern of the displaced. Actually, whenever there are heavy rains, the water level of Chandil Dam starts increasing. When water enters the houses of the displaced people, people are forced to take shelter in other places.
After the heavy rains, the water level of Chandil Dam is continuously increasing. The displaced are afraid that the water level of the dam may suddenly increase and their village may be submerged once again.
