Himanta admits talking with former CM
Ranchi, August 26: Former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren intensified political heat when he reached Delhi on Monday leading to speculations about his joining BJP.
More than a week ago, Champai was also in Delhi but had termed the visit as personal and denied any talks with BJP leaders on the issue.
On Monday, Champai reiterated that he has not met any BJP leaders and that a big decision would be taken in a day or two.
If sources are to be believed, now the people of Jharkhand will not have to wait any longer, because soon Champai Soren is going to join BJP.
Champai Soren has decided, will join BJP on this condition; final talks will be held with Amit Shah.
According to sources, he can join BJP soon. He has already talked to senior BJP leaders in Delhi. It is believed that if BJP wins the assembly elections this time, Champai Soren can sit on the chief minister’s chair. He will have a final talk with Amit Shah tonight.
Sources said that green signal has been received to join the BJP, but he is going to talk to Union Home Minister Amit Shah only in the night. Where all the talks are expected to be put to a final end.
He has also put a condition of giving assembly ticket to his son Bablu Soren for either Ghatshila or Potka seat.
Incidentally, Champai had recently said that he would form a new political outfit and would take along “friends’ with his party.
Meanwhile, contradicting Champai Soren’s statement Assam chief minister and BJP co-in-charge of Jharkhand assembly polls, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he has had talks with Champai Soren in the last few months.
Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren should also join BJP. Himanta Sarma said that he wants Champai Soren to join BJP and said that the biggest challenge of Jharkhand right now is the problem of infiltration. To deal with this problem, BJP is ready to talk to Hemant Soren.
“I want Champai Soren to join BJP. But he is a big leader, so he will not comment about him,” said Sarma.
Sarma said that since Champai Soren has come to Delhi, he will try to talk to him. He said that Champai Soren’s joining BJP will strengthen the party.
Himanta said that Champai Soren himself has admitted that he has three options. First, to retire from politics, second, to form his own party and third, if I find a good partner, I will go ahead with him. Himanta further said that the way for talks with Champai Soren is open.
