Champai Soren got Icha dam contract awarded to his son: BJP leader Mahali

Seraikela: BJP district general secretary of Seraikela-Kharsawan Ganesh Mahali assailed Seraikela MLA Champai Soren for misleading voters in the name of development and welfare.

Addressing a press meet on Tuesday, the BJP leader said Soren had been misleading voters by making tall promises during elections. Despite being the legislator of Seraikela for the last 15 years, Soren has done nothing for the development of his constituency, he said.

�The JMM MLA has said that Icha dam project would be stopped if JMM comes in power in the upcoming Assembly elections. This is strange since the project was started during the regime of Hemant Soren government. The then government had demanded funds from the Central government ruled by the Congress. When the project started, Champai Soren got the contract awarded to his son. This explains the real character of JMM leaders,� said Mahali.

Also present at the press meet, district BJP president Uday Singhdeo said the JMM leader had falsely accused the BJP of exploiting Jharkhand�s natural resources. But the fact is that the JMM has exploited the state and its resources like time and again, he said.
