Jamshedpur: Members of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry have assured fellow members and the business community of the state in general about the ongoing measures by the state government to stop shifting of base of several major companies including Tata Motors to other staes.
The outfit president Suresh Sonthalia, who led a delegation of Chamber members during a meeting with former Union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh in New Delhi, said, The former leader has assured to take a concrete measure in this regard to stop major companies like Tata Motors to shift their base from Jharkhand to elsewhere.
We had come to know that Tata Motors is going to shift its operations from Jamshedpur to Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. This has caused panic among local ancillaries and smaller manufacturing units in Adityapur and other parts of the state about their future prospects.
This led us to discuss the issue with the former Union minister and get an assurance from him to pre-empt any such threat.
Chamber members also thanked the state finance minister Rajendra Singh for his role in boosting the morale of traders and businessmen of the state by assuring to create a conducive environment for them in Jharkhand.
