Chaibasa Youth Found in Kerala After 14 Years; Appeal Issued to Trace Family

Jamshedpur/Chaibasa: In a remarkable development, a boy who went missing from Chaibasa in Jharkhand nearly 12 to 14 years ago has been traced in Kerala’s Kannur district. Now approximately 18 years old, he is hoping to reunite with his family after spending more than a decade away from home.

Goma, alias Raja, has only faint memories of his early childhood. He recalls that he belonged to Chaibasa and that his house was situated on a small hill. He remembers a school located at the foot of the hill, though he is unable to recall its name.

According to his recollection, after reaching Chaibasa railway station, he would travel a short distance by bus or auto and get down near a bicycle repair shop, from where he would walk to his house.

Regarding his family, he remembers his father’s name as Bolram, his mother’s name as Mani, and his brother’s name as Fantus. He also recalls having two younger sisters named Turki and Tirki.

Sources informed that the boy was admitted to a Child Care Institution (CCI) in Thrissur, Kerala, in 2016. Before that, he was under the care of a non-governmental organization. It is believed that he went missing from Chaibasa around 2013-14.

After coming across the case, the founder and team of the “Missing and Found Children Network” initiated efforts to trace his family in Jharkhand. The organization has appealed to the public to come forward with any information that could help reunite the young man with his loved ones.

Anyone having relevant information is requested to contact OKM Ashraf at 9446646304. The organization has urged people to share the information widely so that the long-separated son can finally return home.
