Chaibasa cop held for taking Rs 10000 bribe

Chaibasa, July 3: Vigilance department team on Friday caught a police sub-inspector accepting bribe Rs 10000 inside Muffasil Police Station in West Singhbhum headquarters Chaibasa.

According to reports, Sub-inspector Radhakrishna Prasad demanded bribe of Rs 10000 from a vehicle owner.

It was told that Pradhan Hembram’s Bolero Pick-Up vehicle was crashed during a road accident on June 17 and thereafter the court’s decision the subinspector demanded Rs 10000 to free the vehicle.

Pradhan Hembran thereafter complained about the case to vigilance department and they laid a trap following complaints by the man and arrested Radhakrishna Prasad from the police station.

The vigilance department after arerested the sub-inspector took him to Ranchi. The policeman had allegedly sought Rs 18000 from the man to release his vehicle but the case was settled at Rs 10000.

As per the deal the man went to the Chaibasa Muffasil police station during the day to hand over the money when the vigilance sleuths caught the policeman red handed.
