Chaibasa, Nov.21 : West Singhbhum district congress committee protested against the proposed amendments in CNT/SPT act before the DC office in Chaibasa on Monday.
The party activists submitted a memorandum to deputy commissioner addressed to Jharkhand governor demanding immediate cancellation of the proposed amendments called by the Raghubar Das led state government.
The district President Sunny Sinku while addressing the party activists said, the proposed 27th amendment in CNT/SPT act is against Adivasi and Moolvasi as it would take away the lands of Adivasi and Moolvasis.
He said CNT/SPT act is the soul of Adivasis and Moolvasis. The decision of state government is anti-adivasi. Trishanu Roy said, the adivasis gherao of Jharkhand assembly speaks volume about what Adivasi and Moolvasi wanted.
The amendment in the CNT/SPT act would loot the land by business class. Instead of industries, the government should plan to give the agriculture sector as the status of industry and engage the unemployment youth for high quality of agriculture production in Jharkhand .
