Chaibasa, Dec. 5: Congress committee members headed by its President Mukesh Kumar on Saturday staged a one-day sit-in protest at West Singhbhum district headquarters in Chaibasa against the Central Government’s farm laws and support the ongoing farmers’ agitation in Delhi. Addressing the protesters, Neela Nag, Women Congress district president said, the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to launch a brutal attack on the livelihood of the farmers by imposing anti-farmer agriculture law. These three laws are ant-farmers and will only benefit the capitalists. District spokesperson Jitendra Ojha said, “BJP government is forcefully trying to impose agriculture bills on the farmers by strangling democracy. The government did not discuss it with the farmers before making it a law.”
Present during the protest were Mukesh Kumar, Shakila Bano, Jagdish Sundi, Neeraj Ojha, Ravi Kashyap, Md Salim, Kajal Gorai, Puran Karwan, Raju Karwan, Resham Khatoon, Geeta Tigga, Jaya Saviyan, Nirakar Birua, Narayan Nishad, Rajendra Kashyap, Sushil Kumar Das, Vijay Kumar Singh, Tabbu Parween, Sangeeta Karwan, and others.
