Chaibasa, April 8: The 145th meeting of the Working Committee of the Chaibasa Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI), and the 10th meeting of the 2023–25 session, was held at Toditopa in Jagannathpur subdivision. Office bearers, working committee members, and sub-committee chairpersons from across the subdivision participated in the meeting.
The event began with the welcoming of dignitaries with bouquets and shawls. Chamber Chairman Madhusudan Agarwal delivered the welcome address, followed by Secretary Neeraj Sandwar confirming the minutes of the previous meeting.
Anger Over Jan Shatabdi Express Delay
One of the major concerns discussed was the persistent delay of the Jan Shatabdi Express. Members expressed deep dissatisfaction over the issue, highlighting the difficulties it caused for both traders and travellers. It was decided to organize a major protest to demand resolution.
Aadhar Card enrolment issues
Members also raised concerns about the inconvenience faced by residents in securing new Aadhar cards in the subdivision. The Chamber resolved to take appropriate measures to ensure smoother Aadhar card services in the area.
Proposal for monthly meetings and local committee
FJCCI Kolhan Vice President and former Chamber President Nitin Prakash proposed the formation of a permanent local committee in Jagannathpur and the conduct of monthly meetings to better address local issues. The proposal was passed unanimously.
Push to reopen closed mines
Another strategic issue discussed was the reopening of closed mines in the region. The Chamber decided to formulate a systematic plan to push for the resumption of mining operations, which were vital for the local economy.
The meeting concluded with a call to bring more traders into the Chamber to strengthen the organization’s reach and impact. Secretary Neeraj Sandwar thanked all the members of the Jagannathpur subdivision for their enthusiastic participation and support in making the meeting a success.
