Chaibasa, May 10: Chaibasa Bar Association held a press conference at the association office on Tuesday in support of the state-wide bandh called on May 14 to press for their demand to make necessary changes in the present domicile draft presented by the Raghubar Das government.
Bar Association president advocate B. N. Pandey expressed happiness over the Chief Ministers opinion that he is ready to amend the domicile policy if proper suggestion comes in from various sections of people. The bar president said that the present domicile has grossly ignored the fundamental rights of Moolvasi and Adivasi.
The Jharkhand was formed after a massive movement across the state in order to free the indigenous Jharkhandi from the exploitation of outsiders and give them the scope of expression from their own socio economic resources. While criticizing the present domicile policy, the bar president said that the present domicile is purely hyperbolic based on its target of embanking public votes for the party.
Pandey added that the domicile policy was not seriously drafted and the Chief Minster finally realized it and welcomed suggestion. The bar would release its white paper suggesting the government various measures within the next seven days.
The bar has appealed to the Chief Minster to accept the public demand and suggested him to appeal the agitators to withdraw the bandh. If it does not happen our bar association while giving a moral support to the band we would also join the agitation on the day.
Bar secretary Rameswar Pandey, joint secretary Vivek Sharma, treasurer Satish Chandra Mahto, advocate Saran Pan and advocate Rajaram Gupta were present on the occasion.
