Jamshedpur: In commemoration of the 418th martyrdom anniversary of the fifth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, a Chhabil was organized at Sakchi Mahiwal Travels Chowk under the auspices of the Jharkhand Sikh Vikas Manch. This event saw participation from numerous dignitaries and members of the community, including outgoing Bharatiya Janata Party MP Bidyut Baran Mahto, who served the Sangat alongside others.
MP emphasized the rich history of sacrifice within the Sikh community, drawing inspiration from the ultimate sacrifices made for the nation’s independence. He acknowledged the ongoing contributions of the Sikh community in ensuring the safety of India’s borders and expressed the nation’s indebtedness to their unwavering dedication.
The event was graced by several notable figures, including Takht Shri HariMandir Ji Patna Sahib Management Committee General Secretary Inderjit Singh, Central Founder and Patron of CGPC Gurdeep Singh Pappu, President Daljit Singh, Metropolitan President Sudhanshu Ojha, Former President Vinod Singh, Retired DSP Birendra Yadav, Builder Surendra Pal Singh Titu, Sakchi Police Station Incharge Sanjay Kumar, Advocate Malkit Singh Saini, Mango Gurudwara Committee Trustee Sweety Bhatia, Central Sikh Youth Sabha President Amrik Singh, Former Sakchi President Harvinder Singh Mantu, Former Cashier Ajit Singh Gambhir, General Secretary Paramjit Singh Kale, and several other prominent community leaders and members.
Hazuri Granthi Baba Jaswant Singh of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Gurdwara Sahib led prayers for the welfare of all living beings. He recounted the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, who was martyred on the banks of the Ravi River in Lahore on May 30, 1606 AD, under the orders of Mughal Emperor Jahangir.
