Chaibasa, Oct 6: At a street corner (Nukkad) meeting organized by district Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Chaibasa Mangla Bazaar, speakers said that the Centres intent was not conducive to farmers interests. TMC Jharkhand senior vice president and former parliamentarian Chitrasen Sinku observed, At a time when prices of all commodities are on fire including agricultural products the farmers are not even getting the minimum support price (MSP) for their produce. The central government has formulated the Farm Bills with the intent of transferring the farmers land to corporate houses. What other motive was there for the central government to formulate the Bills in haste at a time when the world was haplessly suffering the COVID attack?
Jharkhand State Trinamool Trade Union Congress president and former Rajya Sabha MP Durga Prasad Jamuda stated, The central governments attitude towards farmers is not at all conducive. That is why the hastily framed Farm Bills were passed in the Rajya Sabha by voice votes instead of paying heed to the opposition that demanded voting. This act on the part of the central government belied all parliamentary norms. Others who addressed the meeting included TMC district president Mahendra Jamuda, Sanjay Biruli, Narayan Singh Purty, Amrit Majhi, Vishal Kumar Nishad, Mangal Sardar and Jagmohan Purty.
