Ranchi: Union Minister of State for Rural Development Sudharshan Bhagat today said that the Centre would extend full support to Jharkhand for execution of PM Gram Sadak Yojna.
He said that review meetings on the progress of the Gram Sadak Yojna would be held in intervals of three months. The minister was speaking on the occasion of a high-level meeting on Sadak Yojna held at Project Bhavan.
Bhagat opined that a lot had been done on laying roads in the State but a lot more would have to be done. He said that the planned projects ought to be accomplished within targeted timeframe.
Rural Development Minister of Jharkhand Neelkanth Singh Munda claimed that the department had carried out commendable job this financial year but there were areas of improvement.
Munda promised the pending road construction projects would be completed on a war footing. He said the Union Government is ready to extend all needed assistance for construction of quality roads in Jharkhand.
�It is our target to connect 16,000 villages through road connectivity. So far 8.5 thousands villages have been connected by roads.
The Gram Sadak Yojna had been started by the former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Bajpai. Our government has asked 4,000 Crores from Centre to executive the projects,� Munda said.
On the occasion the officials from the department of rural engineering department apprised Sudharshan Bhagat and Neelkanth Singh Munda the status of the ongoing projects and the problems are being faced.
