Ranchi: In a significant relief for the state’s MNREGA workers, the central government has released a substantial sum of Rs 620 crore to clear pending wages. The outstanding payments, pending for the last four to five months, have been a hindrance to the progress of MNREGA projects, impacting the workforce.
The allocated funds are distributed across categories, with the second installment disbursing Rs 40,92,16,67 to SC quota workers, Rs 72,68,76,389 to ST quota workers, and a maximum of Rs 138,66,60,033 to other quota workers.
Similarly, in the third installment, Rs 52,07,33,590 has been allocated to SC quota, Rs 99,44,60,853 to ST quota, and a maximum of Rs 216,84,13,666 to workers falling under other categories. This financial injection is expected to revitalize MNREGA activities and address the financial concerns of the workforce.
