Jamshedpur: Hindi Diwas was celebrated with fervour at the Parsudih branch of Central Bank of India on Saturday. A customers’ meet was organized on the occasion. Artists from Sonar Tori, a cultural organizaton based at Parsudih, presented several patriotic songs and dance items.
The chief guest of the occasion was Zila Parishad member Rajkumar Singh and the president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Parsudih unit, Pankaj Kumar Sinha. They jointly inaugurated the function.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Rajkumar Singh said it was the duty of every Indian citizen to respect the national language of the country and use it in daily life. He said the use of Hindi should be made compulsory in all the states.
Rajendra Raj of Sonari Tori gave out a message through a patriotic Hindi song that Hindi was now being accepted worldwide as a preferred language over many other languages.
Many people were present during the programme.
