Jamshedpur, March 26 : The South Eastern Railway has carried out a significant administrative reshuffle by transferring Ranchi’s Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM/RNC), Suchi Singh, amid an ongoing probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The development has sparked widespread discussion within railway circles.
According to the official order, Suchi Singh has been relieved from her position as Sr. DCM/RNC and reassigned as PO/RCT/Ranchi.
In a corresponding move, Shreya Singh has been transferred from PO/RCT/Ranchi to take over as the new Sr. DCM/RNC.
The reshuffle has been executed as a mutual transfer.
Sources indicate that the CBI had recently taken action in a bribery case involving officials from the commercial department of the railways, where serious allegations were levelled against certain officials.
Suchi Singh’s name reportedly surfaced during the investigation, following which she was questioned. However, no detailed official statement has been released regarding the specifics of the case.
The railway order further directs both officers to formally report the dates of handing over and assuming charge of their respective posts. It also mandates the proper transfer of official passes and documents in accordance with established rules.
Railway officials have described the move as part of a routine administrative process. However, the timing of the transfer in the wake of a CBI investigation has raised several questions regarding transparency and accountability within the system.
The developments are being closely watched by railway employees as well as the public, given the broader implications for governance standards and anti-corruption measures within the railway network.
