Cases of theft and drug abuse reported on Tatanagar-Bihar trains

Jamshedpur, April 11: Incidents of theft and drug abuse have been reported on trains traveling from Tatanagar to Bihar, leaving passengers shaken and prompting them to seek justice from the Government Railway Police (GRP). Two passengers, residents of Munger and Nalanda respectively, were targeted during their journey, leading to theft and the administration of intoxicants.

Suraj Kumar, a resident of Munger, and his wife fell victim to theft onboard the Buxar train on March 22. Their bag containing gold jewelry, a mobile phone, and cash was stolen during the journey. Similarly, Shravan Kumar from Nalanda was drugged on the Thawe train, resulting in the theft of Rs 1600 from his pocket.

Following the incidents, both passengers disembarked from the trains and lodged complaints with the GRP at Jumai and Kiyul stations in Bihar, respectively. FIRs have been filed based on their statements, and the Tatanagar GRP is actively investigating the cases. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators by scrutinizing CCTV footage from the stations.
