Carmel Junior College students ace inter school swimming championship

Jamshedpur: Sheyn International School hosted inter school swimming championship on 29th July, in which 94 contestants from 16 schools, all over Jamshedpur, participated.

Carmel Junior College with 98 points was crowned the over-all champion and Loyola School with 69 points bagged the runners-up trophy.

Earlier, the competition was inaugurated with the lighting of lamp and release of balloons by Avinash Singh , Chairman, Sheyn International School, along with Director Sanjay Singh and Pro-Vice Chairman Jyoti Singh.

Students of Loyola School , Sacred Heart Convent , Carmel Jr. College, Little Flower School , Hill Top School , DBMS B.H. Area , DBMS Kadma , Beldih Church School , Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Telco , Jamshedpur Public School, Tagore Academy, Central Public School, Baldwin Kadma, St. Anthony Academy and Sheyn International School participated in the day long championship.

The Chairman emphasized on the advantages of mental and physical fitness which can be attained through swimming. He also put focus on the fact that scholastic and co-scholastic activities should go hand in hand for all round development of a child.

The closing ceremony of the event was graced with the presence of Ram Balak Singh, International Level Swimmer; the winners were privileged to receive the trophy from Ram Balak Singh. Pushpa Bhalla, Vice Principal, Sheyn International School concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
