Jamshedpur: Carmel Junior College captivated audiences with a spectacular three-day theatrical production of Shakespeare’s timeless classic “Romeo and Juliet”, held on November 10, 11 and 12 at the XLRI Auditorium. The event reflected the school’s dedication to artistic and cultural excellence.
The production was graced by Chief Guest Daisy J. Irani, alongside Rev. Fr. Dr. Donald D’Silva S.J., Dean of Administration and Finance at XLRI, Principal Sr. Sharel A.C., Vice Principal Sr. Amala Rani and Pre-Primary Coordinator Sr. Maya Peter. The evening commenced with a welcome address by Principal Sr. Sharel, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting.
Directed by Mousumi Mukherjee under the visionary leadership of Principal Sr. Sharel, the young cast delivered a powerful performance that combined youthful enthusiasm with remarkable emotional depth. Stunning set designs, vibrant costumes and passionate acting brought Verona to life on stage.
As the curtains closed, the audience rose in a standing ovation, applauding the students’ weeks of hard work and dedication. “The students have shown extraordinary talent and discipline,” said Principal Sr. Sharel. The event reinforced Carmel Junior College’s commitment to holistic education that nurtures creativity alongside academic excellence, concluding with the school song.
