Jamshedpur: Carmel Junior College has been bestowed with the International School Award ( ISA) 2013 -16 by British Council. The school was felicitated with the ISA accreditation at Kolkata by Rob Lynes, director, British Council. This award has placed Carmel Junior College on the International map.
A trophy and citation was presented to the school at the function. As a part of the International School Award, the school principal with the ISA coordinator will go for an exchange programme to U.K in March 2014.
“It is indeed a great achievement for us. This will also help us to get global recognition. The comprehensive effort made by the school administration, teaching and non-teaching staffs and the students resulted in winning this recognition,” said Sister M.Sylvie A C, principal, Carmel Junior College.
The school participated in British Council’s Connecting Classrooms programme for 2013 -16. This programme helped us to add an International dimension to the curriculum, thereby creating Global Citizenship. The Professional Development programme for teachers has gone long way in helping them to enhance their teaching skills.
Called British Council International School Award (ISA), the accreditation scheme recognises and celebrates exemplary practices of internationalism in schools.
It provides a framework for cradles to develop an action plan and implement international activities round the year. It also urges schools to innovate with overseas schools on creative teaching practices and real-time global learning.
Hill Top School also received this prestigious Award. The school has been successfully accredited with the British Council International School Award for the period 2013-16.
The ISA award is in recognition of outstanding development of international learning in the curriculum. The award, on behalf of Hill Top School, was received by the principal , Puneeta B Chouhan and ISA teacher coordinator Deblina Dey.
