Camp to collect ration card applications

Saraikela, Sept 28: Saraikela Nagar Panchayat conducted a camp at Gandhi Pathshala to collect applications for ration cards from persons belonging to low income groups. The scheme under Jharkhand Food Security Project will make card holders eligible for five kilograms of rice per person per month at Re 1 per kilo. Saraikela Nagar Panchayat president Minakshi Pattanaik and local Ward Parshad Balram Sahu were present at the time of collection of applications at the camp.

Applications will be collected upto September 30. The state government has allowed provision for issue of 938 cards under the scheme. Preference will be given to elderly persons, widows, homeless, people residing alone, primitive tribe members, those suffering from serious ailments and physically challenged. Ward Parshads have been directed to establish contact from needy persons in their respective areas and collect their applications. Applications can also be tendered at the Panchayat office. The applications can also be filed online from Pragya Kendras.

The applications will be verified between October 1 nd 10. The next application receiving camp will be held in Ward 5 on Monday, September 28.
