Ranchi: Jharkhand governor Dr Syed Ahmad today gave his assent to the proposal sent by the state Cabinet led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren to remove state rural development, Panchayati Raj and labour, employment and training minister Chandrashekhar Dubey alias Dadai Dubey.
Sources said the governor gave his approval to the proposal before going to address the Assembly for the budget session starting today. They said Congress supremo had directed Dubey to tender his resignation. But due to his delay in tendering his resignation, the CM recommended his removal by the governor on the proposal sent to the latter by the Cabinet.
Sources said Dubey had sought an appointment with the governor for a meeting at noon. He gave up the idea on coming to know of his ouster from the Cabinet through mediapersons.
The removal of Dadai Dubey from the Cabinet came not as a surprise especially since Dubey had long been embarrassing Hemant Soren by publicly criticizing him and touting him to be the most corrupt CM the state has ever seen. He also went to the extent of accusing the CM of being responsible for the sand crisis in the state as he alleged that kickbacks worth Rs 550 crore had been received by the CM for awarding sand mining contract to a Mumbai-based company. He also accused the CM of complicity in illegal mining activities in the state.
Taking the continuing verbal attacks by Dadai to be going beyond limits, the CM had asked the Congress high-ups to remove Dadai or else wait to see him getting removed by the Cabinet.
