Jamshedpur : About 10 persons were injured as a passenger-carrying bus turned turtle at Jirapara on Jhargram-Chakulia Road in the Ghatshila sub-division area.
According to information, the driver of the bus lost the balance over the vehicle which was overturned along the Jirapara village 30 am, causing the passengers as well as the driver of the bust to get injured.
Sources said that as soon as the bus was overturned, villagers rushed to the spot and rescued the injured. The villagers had also informed the Chakulia police so as to provide medical care to the injured as soon as possible.
Officer-in-charge, Chakulia SB Tiwary confirmed about the bus mishap and said that necessary step has been taken to ensure medical care to the injured. “The mishap took place as the bus was negotiating a damaged stretch on Jhargram-Chakulia Road in the morning. It is not clear whether the bus overturned due to rash-driving or damaged road, but the driver of the bus had lost balance while crossing a turning,” said Tiwary.
The 32-year-old driver had sustained head injury as he had come under the load of the overturned bus. The two passengers who have been shifted to the Jhargram hospital along with the driver have also sustained head injury. The bus was coming from Jhargram to Jamshedpur. When most of the passengers aboard the ill-fated bus were supposed to get down at Chakulia.
One of the passengers said that the bus was plying at a moderate speed, but all of a sudden it tilted to the left and overturned.
