Jamshedpur, Dec 26: A major burglary has been reported from Telco Colony under the Telco police station area , triggering concern over local security arrangements.
The incident took place at Road No. 31, where burglars broke into the locked house of Tata Motors officer Bhanu Pratap Singh and decamped with cash and valuables worth around Rs 25 lakh.
According to information, Bhanu Pratap Singh, who resides in Quarter No. K-3, was away from home for personal work when the incident occurred.
Taking advantage of his absence, the miscreants broke the main door lock, entered the house, and thoroughly searched the rooms and almirahs before fleeing with cash, jewellery, and other valuable items.
The theft came to light when local residents noticed the broken lock and informed the Telco police.
A police team reached the spot, inspected the house, and initiated an investigation.
Statements have been recorded, and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify those involved.
Police officials said that preliminary findings suggest the involvement of a professional gang, and the case is being investigated from multiple angles.
Efforts are underway to arrest the accused at the earliest.
The incident has created an atmosphere of concern and anger in Telco Colony and surrounding areas.
Local residents pointed out that despite regular patrolling by both the police and Tata Motors’ security teams, such a large-scale theft has exposed serious lapses in security.
Residents have demanded increased night patrolling, stricter surveillance of suspicious individuals, and additional security measures in the colony.
The police have assured that the case will be solved soon and the stolen property will be recovered.
