Jamshedpur, Jan 5: A daring daylight burglary in the Kadma police station area has raised serious questions over local security arrangements.
Burglars targeted the locked residence of a Tata Steel employee, decamping with cash and valuable jewellery from the house located on Farm Area Road No. 2.
The incident took place on January 4 between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm, when the homeowner, Venkata Rao, along with his family, had gone out after locking the house.
On returning in the evening, the family found the main door lock broken.
On entering the house, they were shocked to see cupboards, beds and household items lying scattered, indicating that the burglars had ample time to thoroughly ransack the premises.
Preliminary assessment suggests that the accused fled with cash and gold ornaments kept inside the house.
Following information, Kadma police reached the spot and carried out an inspection.
Police are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the culprits.
A case has been registered against unknown persons.
The incident has triggered fear among local residents, who have demanded intensified patrolling and stronger security measures in the area.
Police assured to solve the case, at the earliest.
