Burglars wreaking havoc in Jadugora, target two houses


Jadugora: Unidentified burglars wreaked havoc in Domjuri village under Jadugora police station area in the wee hours of Tuesday.

They made away with property worth several lakhs by targeting two houses.

Sources said the incidents transpired in the morning. One of the victims, Vikram Murmu was aghast to find cash and ornaments missing from the safe in his house.

Burglars took away Rs 30,000 in cash, gold ornaments and other valuables including a mobile phone. They entered the house after midnight and took away cash and valuables kept in a box, source said.

Police recovered a box thrown by the burglars on their way out of the locality. The box was identified by Vikram Murmu as his own.

In the other incident, burglars took away Rs 67,000 in cash, a camera besides stealing gold and silver ornaments from the house one Ranjit Das. Utensils and goats were also stolen from the house.

An FIR was lodged by Ranjit Das in this connection. Cops said they were trying to detect the burglary.

Local villagers are in a state of panic after the twin incidents. They have demanded police action and beefing up of security in the village.

Recently, thieves had targeted the house of local BJP leader and Domjuri resident Haldhar Das. The jewelry shop of Sanjay Rana was also targeted by the burglars in Narwa.

Robbers had also taken away the motorcycle of a UCIL employee Jaynandan Das at gunpoint.
