Burglars decamp with valuables worth over Rs 6.5 lakh at Sidhgora

Jamshedpur : Unknown burglars decamped with cash and ornaments worth over Rs 6.5 lakh from a house on Betua Road under Sidhgorapolice station area on Friday.The burglary took place when the owner of the house, Ranjan Singh, had gone to perform Chhath Puja at Hurlung in Birsanagar.

The burglars took away gold ornaments worth over Rs 6 lakh and Rs 48,000 cash. Ranjan (35) who is an employee of Tata Steel and works at coke plant of the company said he along with his family had left the house at about 4 am for offering Chhath rituals.

“When we returned we were shocked to find the front door lock broken. On entering into the house, we found the steel almirah broken. The ornaments as well as the cash was kept in the locker. All was gone,” said Ranjan.
A sniffer dog was also pressed into service by the Sidhgora police. But, the sniffer could not give any lead.
