Burglars decamp with jewellers worth Rs 1 lakh in Gamharia

Jamshedpur, July 17: Burglars decamped with jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh by breaking the shutter of RD Jewellers situated at Chotta Gamharia under Gamharia Police Station late on Saturday night.

Owner of the shop Chandan Kumar registered an FIR against unidentified at Gamharia Police Station on Sunday. According to reports, owner of the shop went home after shutting down his shop at 9 pm on Saturday night.

On Sunday morning his neighbor shopkeeper informed Chandan that lock of his shop is broken. Soon Chandan rushed to his shop and checked the goods in the shop and found that gold, silver and stones worth Rs 1 lakh missing.

He informed about the same to Gamharia police. After getting the information, Seraikela SDPO Sumit Kumar along with Gamharia police reached the spot.

Absence of CCTV cameras made identification of burglars. Significantly, a few days back burglars took away jewellery worth Rs 9 lakh from Balajee Jewellers in Nirmal Path, Chotta Gamharia.

A meeting of all the shopkeepers will be held in Gamharia Police Station premises which would focus on security , informed Gamharia PS inspector Ravish Kumar Singh.
