Jamshedpur, Feb 1: The Union budget presented by the finance minister Arun Jaitley is a balanced, inclusive and welfare budget which will benefits the people of all the section of the society, said state food and civil supplies minister Saryu Rai.
It’s a budget for the future which focuses on the village, poor, farmers, youth, women and workers. Allotment of Rs 9000 crore for crop insurance, proposal to raise 1 crore people out of poverty line, making 50 lakh free of poverty an making 5 lakh ponds under MGNREGA for which Rs 48 thousand crore has been sanctioned is a welcome step. Providing 8 % interest for deposit by senior citizen and setting up of AIIMS in Jharkhand is praiseworthy step. Rs 2,000 cash limit for accepting donation will clean up the political funding and corruption.
“Rs 10,000 crore have been allotted for loans to farmers. It takes care of roads, railways and everything,” the minister said.
“By introducing various measures on political funding and by trying to bring more and more people under the taxation system, the government has made an effort to make the country honest,” he said.
A 100 per cent increase in the irrigation fund which has been announced at Rs 40,000 crore, from earlier Rs 20,000 crore is a welcome step.
