Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said the Union budget was aimed at making the poor poorer and the rich richer. Reacting to the budget, he said the budgetary provisions belied any plans to ensure welfare of the people, especially the poor.
He said the budget had slight hike from the erstwhile budget which was not adequate to ensure the development of the country.
The budget does not have much provisions to make any turnaround. The promises made by Narendra Modi during Lok Sabha election have not been kept. The government has ridiculed the poor people by causing potato and onion costlier and diamond and other jewels cheaper, said the CM.
The CM further said that the Union budget was illusive like the rail budget. He said the government had given bullet train to Gujarat but denied much benefits to Jharkhand save for a passenger train in the rail budget. He said foreign goods were being made cheaper. He said Jharkhand was not likely to get anything unless it stopped asking for it.
Jharkhand finance minister Rajendra Prasad Singh too, echoed similar views on the Union budget. He said the tax rebate provisions were not impressive at all.
