Painting and Master Chef competitions bring out hidden talents of children
Jamshedpur, Dec 16: Sunday appeared to be a cloudy day with occasional drops of rain but it did not dither people from enjoying Day � 2 of the Jamshedpur Carnival.
One of the most immensely popular and awaited event of Jamshedpur, Sa Re Ga Ma was organized on December 16, 2018 as part of Jamshedpur Winter Fest 2018. More than 300 young singers participated in this event. During the auditions which was held at various centres around the city, 18 finest singers were shortlisted for the grand finale.
For Jiren Topno, the organizer of this part of the Carnival, �Tata Steel Urban Services (earlier CD&SW) has been organizing this event for the last 30 years. As part of its commitment to engage the citizens especially the youth, Urban Services organises various cultural events to creatively engage the communities in basti (urban settlements) areas. Such engagements enable children, youth and women to come forth and express their creativity.�
At the grand finale of Sa Re Ga Ma – 2018, the best of six teams (Utkarsh, Sankalp, Samparn, Abhyuday, Pravah & Ekyam) regaled the audience with their scintillating performances. The Theme for this year was �Tribute to O P Nayyar�.
Sumita Mitra, Dr. Sudipto Mukherjee & Dipankar Kumar were the judges for this years� event.
Earlier in the Day, the Jamshedpur School of Art was fully geared up to organize the painting competition at Gopal Maidan. The children enjoyed participating in the competition along with their Art Instructors.
The result for the painting competition was announced today. In Group A, 1st prize was won by Stuti Kabra of DBMS English School while Sourya Suman of Jamshedpur school of Art was adjudged second followed by Molina Mahato, DAV Public School, Bistupur who secured third prize.
In Group-B, 1st prize was won by Ishant kr. Sharma of Jamshedpur school of Art while 2nd prize-was earned by Piyush Das of DAV Public School, Bistupur. Prachi from Tagore Academy secured third prize.
In another Group-C competition 1st prize was won by Ashish Ghosh of Jamshedpur Public School while 2nd prize was secured by Sitar Puraria of Jamshedpur Public School. Swarnin Raj from DAV Public School, Bistupur was adjudged third.
In each category a prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 8,000 and Rs 6,000 was given to winners of first, second and third slots.
The Day also witnessed the �MasterChef Competition� which consists of a large number of contestants from across Jamshedpur individually presenting a dish before the judges. Smita Parikh, on behalf of the Organising Committee, expressed her satisfaction on the conduct and response for this event saying that �This is to test their food knowledge and preparation skills. I am happy with the response received for this event and wish it to achieve even greater heights.
The last part of the evening’s program featured musical performances.
