Budding managers of XLRI to head for �Village Exposure Programme�

Jamshedpur : The students of XLRI School of Business and Human Resources, Jamshedpur, will soon head for adventurous trips to distantly located villages around Jamshedpur to experience the tough life of rural India.

The programme christened �Village Exposure Programme� has been designed to help students to explore the possibilities of business opportunities and resources in rural India further assisting and supporting people in the villages to have control over their product, resources and to expand their market reach as well.

As per plans students of business management, human resources management, general management programmes will visit different villages of Singhbhum including Chaibasa and Patamda.

�The programme is aimed at creating responsible leaders and managers who can take up assignments in any part of the world. It will be a great learning experience. The students can study rural areas their requirements and expectations,� said an official of XLRI.

XLRI Jamshedpur, the leading business school in India, has reintroduced village exposure programme and adventure programme as part of the orientation program for the first batch of students in the new academic year.

XLRI both the programmes have been drawn up to sensitise the students to the tough life in rural areas while inculcating value of team spirit and fellow feeling among them.

XLRI, which ranks in top five business schools of the country, is known for its social orientation of program. Students from diverse background have opted for various programs such as business management, human resources management, general management, fellow program in management and executive fellow program in management.

He said that every year all the management students have such rural exposure programmes. These programmes give the students an exposure to the reality of the vast number of our villages and the life of the poor and simple people. During their stay, students also do some surveys and collect data for analysis.

Most of the students appreciate this programme and are touched by the simplicity of lives of those people and the hospitality they extend to them. Some have even started NGOs to help to educate these children. This is one of the experiences which they will remember all through their life he added.
