BSNL Jamshedpur marks BSNL Day with 4G milestone

Jamshedpur, Oct 14: BSNL  today announced the ongoing launch of its 4G services in Jamshedpur’s business area to mark BSNL Day.

 With 350 BTSs set to feature the 4G network, tower foundation casting is in full swing, with 70 foundations already completed. Optical fiber laying for new sites is underway, ensuring connectivity from the nearest switching area.

Notably, the foundation and erection of the 4G tower at “Jhanti Jharna,” which was inaugurated by Bidyut Baran Mahato, is successfully completed.

Simultaneously, work on the foundation of the “Lakhaidih” tower, a neighboring village to President Draupadi Murmu’s village, is in full swing.

In addition to the 4G saturation project, phase IX.2 is on the horizon. BSNL Jamshedpur plans to replace all existing BTS sites (216+25=241) and introduce 34 new 4G sites, bringing the total to 275.

In the wire-line segment, BSNL Jamshedpur is making strides with its FTTH (Fiber to the Home) service. Collaborating with channel partners known as TIPs (Telecom Internet Providers), BSNL has 68 TIPs operating in the Jamshedpur business area. Furthermore, in rural areas, FTTH services are offered free of cost through channel partners called “BHARAT UDHYAMI,” with 38 partners providing connections in rural areas. The FTTH network sees an impressive addition of 226 OLTEs.

Expanding its reach, BSNL Jamshedpur is actively involved in LAN/WAN and data communication projects at Jharkhand Group of Mines (JGOM) locations—Meghatuburu, Kiriburu, Chiriamines, and Gua. The ongoing optimization process for UCIL mines, with completed survey work, further solidifies BSNL’s commitment to connectivity and communication in the region.
