Jamshedpur, April 16: Women priest Avdhutika Anand Lokatita Acharya carried out the Shradh program of deceased Dhanvanti Devi on Thursday, April 16.
Devi breathed her last on April 13 at Tata Main Hospital. Anandmarg Pracharak Sangh organized the funeral at Subarnarekha ghat and Shraddh at Mohini Complex.
Avdutika performed all the rituals in the presence of number of people. The whole ceremony was resonating with Shlokas and hymns recited by Avdhutika who was performing her job like any other Pundit out there.
Once, where it was considered a banished ritual for females, gone are those days, as these days there is scarcity of male priests, these women pundits are lending a hand and that too free of cost.
