Breaking its own record, Red Cross society collects 1225 units

Jamshedpur, May 8: Breaking its own record, Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum collected 1225 units of blood during annual drive at Red Cross Bhavan in Sakchi on Friday, May 8, 2015.

During the camp on May 8, 2014 total 1119 units of blood were collected during a single day. Seeing the excitement at the venue, some of the guests said that it’s much above a camp and it can easily be described as Blood donation Festival.

Women also played vital role were more than 100 donated bloods. Held on the occasion of World Red Cross Day this was East Singhbhum society’s 500th blood donation camp.

People were seen in queue since 7 in the morning till 4 pm were the camp continued till 5pm. The camp held at 26 beds was team of Jamshedpur Blood Bank and workers of Red Cross East Singhbhum played vital role and helped achieve the feat.

The camp was officially inaugurated by Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Minister in Jharkhand Government, Saryu Rai who was present as the Chief Guest.

To encourage the donors, District Commissioner cum President of Red Cross Society, Dr. AMitabh Kaushal was also present.

Several dignitaries were also present at the event were Chandulal Bhalotia, Dinesh Parikh, Harivallabh Singh Arshi, Secretray of blood bank Nalini Rammurthy, Beli Bodhanwala, AGM Tata Motors Praveen kaushal, Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce & Industry Suresh Sonthalia, Govind Dodrajka, Umesh Kavantia, Deepak
Bhalotia, Balmukund Goyal, Prabhakar Singh, Chandramohan Singh, Ramniranjan Ranasariya, Subhash Shah, Shyam Sunder Choudhary donated blood.
