Jamshedpur: The mass Upnayan Sanskar ceremony of Bramharshi Vikas Manch kicked off at Amal Sangh, Sidhgora, on Tuesday. It was organized in a traditional manner. A total of 11 boys were registered for Upnayan ceremony this year. This was informed by Acharya Rangesh Sharma.
Sharma said there are a total of 16 Sanskars or rituals that Hindus should undergo in their lifetime. Upnayan is the tenth Sanskar which is also known as Yagyopavit, he said.
A large number of people including relatives of the 11 boys and members of Bramharshi Vikas Manch were present during the rituals. In the evening, a discourse was held.
Among those present during the programme included Ram Prakash Pandey, Sanjeev Ojha, Kameshwar Tiwary, Umesh Dubey, Renu Sharma, Sudhir Kumar Singh, Yogendra Mowar and Ram Narayan Sharma.
