Jamshedpur: Brahman community on Tuesday protested before the DC office demanding chief minister Raghubar Das to withdraw his comment made against the community and issue an apology.
A delegation of the Brahman community led by Appu Tiwary, Bijay Pathak, Abhishek Ojha and Abhishek Pandey also submitted a memorandum to DC.
People of the community in large number gathered at the DC office and said, if the chief minister Raghubar Das fails to issue an apology within a week, then Brahman community will boycott all religious ceremonies and last rites in Jamshedpur and if any untoward incident takes place then the chief minister himself will be responsible.
Appu Tiwary said the Brahman community was deeply hurt by the CM�s comments targeted against the Brahmans. Protest will be launched and effigies will be burnt all over the state till Raghubar Das withdraws his comment, Tiwary added.
