Jamshedpur, Nov 21: East Singhbhum district administration will be using Booth App at all polling booths across Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West Assembly constituencies. The App will help voters plan their polling schedule as per convenience. The voters will not be required to wait in long queues. The voters will have to contact the booth level officer with their photo voter slip. The BLO will scan the QR code and given a QTN number to voters who can cast their vote as per convenience. The BLOs of the two constituencies have been given training on using the App. This was informed by the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Returning Officer of East Singhbhum Ravi Shankar Shukla on Thursday.

Accompanied by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Anoop Birtharay, Shukla addressed a press conference to share information about the election preparations in the district and withdrawal of nomination forms by candidates.

Shukla said a total of 96 candidates were shortlisted as eligible for contesting election after scrutiny of nomination forms. Six candidates withdrew their names on 21st November. Now only 90 candidates are in the fray, he said.
