Jamshedpur, August 16: Fear gripped the city after a bomb exploded in a dustbin behind Kali Bari Mandir near Loyola School under Bistupur Police Station of Sunday evening.
Though there were no reports of loss of life but according to an eye witness a man was injured.
SSP refused to give details of the injured saying bomb disposal squad is investigating the matter after the probe is complete we will be in a position to give details. Till the news was written down there was report of one injured in the explosion that took place at around 8.30 pm.
Though the road between the Loyola School and Kali Bari Mandir remains deserted in night but being Sunday there was a crowd presence in the temple.
Though administration refused to comment but the onlookers said that there was huge explosion and the sound from the dustbin crowded people at the spot.
Soon after getting the information DC Dr. Amitabh Kaushal, SSP Anoop T Mathew, City SP Chandan Jha, Minister and MLA Saryu Rai, MP Bidhut Baran Mahato and other police officials of Bistupur Police Station rushed to the spot.
Minister and police officials appealed the citizens to maintain peace and not to chase rumors.
