Jamshedpur, Sep 2: Sonari police have recovered the body of a five-year-old girl from the bushes along the river Subarnarekha in Marine Drive. She was naked. Her hand was also missing. The victim identified as Gunjan Kumari alias Chiki was missing from Sonari New Kapali Basti from 6 pm on Monday evening. The relatives had informed the police to Sonari police station. After this, the police started investigation.
On receipt of the body on Wednesday morning, several police officers, including City SP Subhash Chandra Jat, reached the spot. There is anger among the people about the recovery of the dead body. People also created a ruckus in front of police officers.
City SP assured the medical board team to conduct post mortem of the body. Police are currently investigating the case.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has ordered a probe into the death of a five year old girl whose body was found on Wednesday from Sonari Police Station area of the East Singhbhum district. In a tweet, the chief minister directed DC East Singhbhum and Jharkhand Police to conduct a probe and take strict action against the culprits.
