Jamshedpur: A team of Anti Corruption Bureau officials caught Mansaram Singh, Mukhiya of Kuiyyani panchayat under Bodam block, red-handed allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 8500 from one Ganesh Mahato on Thursday.
The accused Mukhiya had demanded the said sum for allotting two housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to Mahato and his father. Mahato complained to the SP, ACB, Jamshedpur, and sought action against the accused.
Soon a team led by senior ACB officials verified the allegations and caught the accused red-handed. Earlier, the accused had reportedly demanded Rs 20,000 for allotting two PMAY housing units, sources said.
