Blood donation drive at KPS Kadma collects 181 units

Jamshedpur: Kerala Public School (KPS), Kadma, organized its Annual Blood Donation Camp on September 9, 2025, to commemorate the ninth death anniversary of founder chairman Late A.P.R. Nair, fondly remembered as the Saksharta Man of Jamshedpur.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp and a rendition of Ekla Chalo by the school choir. Guests included Manorema Nair (Chairperson, KPS Schools), Sharat Chandran (Director), Lakshmi R (Academic Director), and other dignitaries.

In her welcome address, Principal Sharmila Mukherjee highlighted the importance of blood donation and urged efforts to dispel myths surrounding it. Director Sharat Chandran emphasized awareness about Thalassemia among youth.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers, parents, staff, alumni, vendors, auto and van drivers, and members of the local community. Each donor received a gratitude card as a token of appreciation.

The school successfully collected 181 units of blood, making the camp a success in serving society and honoring the legacy of APR Nair.
