Jamshedpur: To commemorate one of India’s greatest entrepreneurs J N Tata’s birth anniversary, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) has organized a blood donation camp today at Red Cross Bhawan, Sakchi.
Sponsored by JAMIPOL, a Tata Steel group company, the camp saw many thronging the venue of the camp to donate blood from the very morning. Altogether,56 units of blood was collected during the camp.
Earlier, Mr P S Reddy, Managing Director, JAMIPOL, who inaugurated the camp in the presence of senior executives of the company, has lauded the efforts put in by the East Singhbhum Chapter of Red Cross Society in lending a hand for social causes in the city. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the efforts put in by the Society are praiseworthy, particularly the relief extended during the lockdown period wherein many from the weaker sections of the society were reached ration. Mr Bijay Kumar Singh, Hony Secretary of the Red Cross Society, profusely thanked JAMIPOL for coming forward to sponsor blood donation as well as eye cure camps regularly which is proving to be of great help to the deprived. He also hoped many organizations will also extend support the Society so that more and more people could be extended assistance in times of need.
While members and volunteers of the Red Cross Society assisted in successfully conducting the camp, all requisite COVID19 guidelines have been followed.
