Blood donation camp at Carmel Junior College collects 45 units

Jamshedpur, Nov 3: A total of 45 units of blood were collected at a Mega Blood Donation Camp organized by Carmel Junior College, Sonari, in collaboration with its Alumni Association. The event aimed to foster compassion, community service, and social responsibility among students, alumni, and staff members.

The students of Class X took the lead in organizing the camp as part of their Service-Learning Project, reflecting the school’s commitment to value-based education. The camp was inaugurated by Principal Sister Sharel A.C., who highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation. In her address, she said, “Blood is the most exquisite gift that one can give to another person,” urging everyone to participate selflessly in such noble causes.

The programme began with a welcome speech, lighting of the lamp, prayer, and a song, followed by an informative PowerPoint presentation on blood donation. The event received strong support from Avinash Adeshra, an alumnus from the 2010 batch, whose efforts were key in coordinating the camp. Another alumna from the same batch, Hinal Mehta, delivered an engaging talk on the significance and life-saving impact of blood donation.

The Jamshedpur Blood Bank, in partnership with the Voluntary Blood Donors Association, facilitated the camp, ensuring safe and efficient collection. Students, parents, alumni, and staff participated enthusiastically, embodying the true Carmel spirit of service and generosity.

The school management and Alumni Association expressed heartfelt gratitude to all donors and volunteers for making the event a success and contributing towards saving lives through this meaningful initiative.
