Block closure at Tata Motors on 18th and 19th December

Jamshedpur: Tata Motors in Jamshedpur will observe a block closure on 18th and 19th December, with operations set to resume on Wednesday, 20th December. This decision has been made due to reduced production caused by a shortage of materials. A circular, issued on Saturday by the plant head Ravindra Kulkarni, announced the closure dates.

As per the circular, Tata Motors employees will have their regular weekly holiday on Sunday, 17th December, followed by the block closure on 18th and 19th December. During the block closure period, employees will experience a deduction of 50 percent of their salary, along with the deduction of 50 percent of their leave. For employees whose Privilege Leave (PL) or Casual Leave (CL) has expired, the closure money will be adjusted from their salary.

Employees or officers called to duty during the closure are expected to report to work, while those who are absent will have their entire day’s salary deducted, and that day will be considered as their holiday. However, contractual employees do not receive any salary during the block closure period.
