BLBC Meeting: 50 new KCC loan applications created

Jamshedpur: The Block Level Bankers Committee (BLBC) meeting was successfully held today at the Baharagora Block Auditorium. The meeting, chaired by the Lead District Manager (LDM) of East Singhbhum, saw the active participation of 32 members, including the Block Development Officer (BDO), Block Agriculture Officer, branch managers from various banks, Panchayat Mukhiyas, Panchayat Secretaries, and other key block-level representatives.

During the meeting, the LDM provided crucial information on various government schemes aimed at benefiting rural communities. He highlighted the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, which offers free electricity up to 300 units through solar energy, 95% project financing, a subsidy of up to ₹78,000, and zero processing fees. The attending members were also briefed about various insurance and pension schemes, such as: Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) – ₹20 annual premium, ₹2 lakh coverage in case of death, and ₹1 lakh for disability. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) – ₹436 annual premium, ₹2 lakh coverage in case of death.

Atal Pension Yojana (APY) – Monthly pension ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000.

The LDM urged the Panchayat Mukhiyas to actively encourage villagers to enroll in these schemes, ensuring financial security and social welfare for poor and marginal farmers.

A key highlight of the meeting was the creation of 50 new Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan applications, aimed at providing financial assistance to farmers for agricultural activities. Additionally, 25 new KCC loan applications were approved, further boosting agricultural development in the region.

In a significant move toward financial literacy, Panchayat Gyan Kendra libraries in Baharagora block were provided with financial literacy books sent by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). These books are expected to help students and rural communities enhance their understanding of financial management and banking services.
