BJYM observes Black Day on Emergency anniversary

Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Bistupur Mandal unit, staged a silent demonstration near Bistupur roundabout on Tuesday as a part of Black Day celebration to mark the 43rd anniversary of Emergency.

Addressing the gathering, district BJP leader Dinesh Kumar said the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had tried to crush the Indian democracy under her �despotic� heels by announcing Emergency on 25th June 1975. He said the Congress had pushed the country to despotism just to satisfy its �greed for power�.

BJYM district president Amarjeet Singh Raja said the Emergency was a black chapter of the Indian democracy. He said the former PM Indira Gandhi had murdered democracy to remain in power.

Among others present during the protest programme included Haldhar Narayan Shah, Ankit Anand, Kaju Shandilya, Suranjan Rai, Probir Chatterjee Rana, Pradip Mukherjee, Ranjit Pandey and Krishna Sharma Kali.
