Jamshedpur, September 6: Members of Bharatiya Jantantra Yuva Morcha district committee staged a dharna at the Birsanagar office of DVC over poor electricity condition.
Significantly, a delegation led by Manoj Singh Ujjain had handed over a memorandum to the electricity department demanding 24 hours uninterrupted power supply, replacement of old wire poles, irregularities in electricity charges within 10 days.
Even after a lapse of 10 days, no positive initiative was seen in the improvement of the working style of the electricity department, which led to the dharna on Monday.
Delegation of the Yuva Morcha said that if there is no improvement in the working style of the electricity department even now, they will be forced to make a violent agitation.
A delegation of electricity department sent by electricity GM came to the site of the strike and assured the delegation of BJM Yuva Morcha sitting on dharna in front of Birsanagar police station in-charge that very soon problems in electricity supply would be removed and all worn out wires will be replaced.
The official of the electricity department also assured of a separate helpline be issued for complaints related to electricity so that the problems of the people could be resolved quickly. He also assured that the people of Jamshedpur East assembly segment would not have to go to Karandih for electricity related works and will make arrangements to do all the work currently being done in Karandih in Jamshedpur East segment itself.
