Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Party�s Vidyut Varan Mahato turned out to be the leading contestant as he was declared to be ahead by his close rival, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha�s Dr Ajoy Kumar, by a margin of 16967 votes in the initial rounds of counting.
The BJP vote count was 37537 by 10.45 am while that of JVM was 19,738. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha�s Niroop Mohanty fetched 11,683 votes at third position.
The counting of votes is on at Jamshedpur Cooperative College for the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency.
